HEATHER
“This is fun!” laughed Heather.
“Just keep saying 1, 2, 3 over and over in your head,” smiled her dad.
Heather had finally done the waltz.
“Here comes some food,” said Heather’s mom.
“Thanks mom.” Heather took some minerals and water.
Suddenly, Mr. and Mrs.Wheatstone heard the doorbell ring. They stood up and walked to the door. “We’ll get that….. Hello?… Oh my wheats! Heather!!”
Something grabbed both of Heather's parents.
“Mom, dad??!!!
All Heather saw was eight bright red glowing eyes! Immediately, they vanished. Heather’s mind went blank. She sat down, she had to find her parents no matter how long it takes. Soon she started packing for the journey ahead of her. Not long after, she searched all of Wheat-topia.
Later, she didn’t notice that she was outside of the Wheat-topia gates! Not caring about the dangers ahead she went forward no matter what. In the woods a while later, a coldness washed over her.
“I wonder why it’s so c-cold. And....White?!?” It was true everything was white.
“I hope that a spider wo-”
“Welcome to my home, deary!” the large beast boomed. Heather looked at the beast’s eyes, they were the same ones that she saw at her house! She counted the beast’s legs and it’s eyes
“1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.” she mumbled quietly.
Just then, without thinking Heather ran! The cold, bitter wind blasted against her delicate roots.
Her stem felt achy from no water. And her leaves were slouching from no soil (because soil has water in it). Her stem couldn’t support her leaves, because her water tubes in her stem couldn’t carry food from the leaves to the rest of her. Her leaves were starting to shrink and shrivel up from no carbon dioxide in air. Her roots couldn’t find nutrients in soil. Her stem couldn’t find light to bend towards.
Heather looked behind her. The spiderwort was gaining on her! Suddenly, Heather noticed two white sacs on the spiderworts back, and they were moving. Was it her parents?.....
“Give me back my parents?!” Heather said unsure.
“If they are my parents.” She thought.
Heather ran towards the spiderwort, and grabbed two loose dangling strings on the two white sacs. She got a good grip on them and pulled as hard as she could.
Without the spiderwort catching her, the sacs fell off the mean spiderworts back. Astonished at Heather's courage, the spiderwort retreated. Heather quickly unwrapped her parents.
“Mom,dad”. Heather hugged her parents tightly, relieved that they were them instead of a different victim of the spiderwort.
“Oh, Heather,” exclaimed her parents hugging her back and said, “Don’t ever leave us like that again”
“Me? You don’t ever leave me like that again.”
Heather buried her face into her parents kind, loving arms.
