I was in the opera The Evil Garden Gnome and I was doorstop. How our team worked was three people worked on melodies and words for the songs and me and another person worked on typing the story and the libretto. When we finished typing the libretto we helped with songs to. Then we practiced a lot! When it was time to preform we did just fine. But it is so cool to see how actors and actresses work backstage and I bet that's how we were. Also, I am glad I go to an arts school, because we get creative and fun activities unlike other schools.

I really enjoyed making a opera. The most difficult part of making an opera was writing the libretto because we had to make it understandable, block it, and add in the music. I thought that making a opera was going to be challenging and at first it was very hard, but when my group got done writing the first act it was not as challenging.

This experience was really fun! The opera that I was in was called Luna's Love Story and I was the evil witch and evil fairy. Also, before we even performed, we had to write the outline and libretto for our opera. I would say the outline and libretto wasn't too easy and wasnt too hard. Next, the most difficult part was when we had to make the melody match the lyrics. If I were to write and perform an oprera again, I would probably not change anything except for the transition of things like changing costumes or getting out props. This is because it took a while to change props or costumes. My favorite part of our performance was when I got chased off by the wolf (Reece) because I got to run off while I said "Ahh!". The other reason is because I got to act scared.

The process of writing an opera is really fun. First we came up with opera ideas based off a fairy tale then we pitched them to the class and voted. Next we got into groups to make a story line. A story line is in the form of an essay. Like the first thing that happened the the next thing and so on. After that we made a libretto witch is like a script. After that we assigned the characters and started composing our music. Last we started rehearsing the opera than we performed. It was way easier than I thought. The most difficult part of writing an opera is making sure it is good enough to perform like making sure it makes sense. We started with the objects just falling out of the sky then we came up with a witch guarding the shoes, a fairy gaurding a wand, and a owl dropping the hat. (We were Luna's love story). I would change the fact that Reece didn't make it convincing that he was scarring the witch he was supposed to sound scary. Also I would change the enthusiasm because only 3 people actually used good enthusiasm he looked and sounded really bored. My favorite part was the beginning chorus because everyone was so excited at the beginning.

I was in the group The Evil Garden Gnome and it was kind of difficult writing an opera. I thought it would be more like writing a story and performing with music, but the most difficult part was probably making the music for the opera because you would have to make the music and the music would have to match the words. If we had a chance to perform again I wouldn't really change annything I thought that in the opera at some spots we could have practiced more. We focused a lot on the music. My favorite part of my groups performance was when we got to sing the songs. They were pretty fun to come up with and that's one of the things that helped our opera become an opera.

Writing an opera is more challenging than I thought.

As the creator of one of the operas, it was actually pretty easy to make my opera it only took me about 20 minutes. It was actually easier then I expected it too be I thought it would take at least one hour. The most difficult part of writing the opera was coming up with what the characters would look like, because I didn't know what Doorstop would look like or Cher. If I could write and perform an opera again I would want to add a little more so the the opera could be a little longer. I just felt like the opera was too short. My favorite part of preforming was when are team made the crowd laugh because it just made me want to be funnier and preform better.

Hello I'm Aubrey and I am a fifth grader who wrote one of these operas, "The Tornado", which is about a girl named Alaya (played by me) who goes through a tornado with her mom but her mom salty dies. The two characters (Alaya, and Black the giraffe Macey) then go to "uncle Dobby's house" (Phoenix) and he unveils aa portal he has. He allows Alaya and Black to use the portal and they save Alaya's mom. The process of writing an opera was fun mostly, but at times, very stressful. Even as we were just deciding which storys would be chosen. The most difficult part of writing an opera was probably getting all of the ideas I had rejected but I love the way our opera turned out very well. If I was going to preform this again. And I was able to change something, I don't think that I would. My favorite part of our opera was uncle Dobby.

What was the process of writing a opera like? It was very challenging to go through the whole thing it was fun and crazy. What was your favorite part of making them? My favorite part was practicing it was scary to think we were going to perform them on stage. What was the most difficult part of the opera writing process? The most difficult part was trying to decide what the music would be and how the characters would be.

The process of writing an opera was very fun. I felt that you got to express yourself in the most creative way than ever before at Lee. Beforehand, I thought that writing and performing an opera would be simple. But, if I were to choose the most difficult part of writing our operas, I think that I would have to choose when we started blocking our opera on the stage. When we were practicing our operas in our classroom, we didn't have a huge stage, instead we had a space barely larger than a closet. So, when we got to start working on the stage, we had to imagine that the back half of the stage was not there because we were practicing so far back. If I were going to write and perform an opera again, I think I would change some things. One thing I would change is our amount of prop, costume, and set design time. We had very little time to make items we needed for the show, and we had to work on our own time. Also, I think that we would have had a little less pressure on ourselves if we had a bigger group. Our group had six people and four parts. That meant that we only had two people to play instruments and change sets. My favorite part of my groups' opera was the scene where Uncle Dobby came on the stage. He was funny and I liked how he made people laugh. I really liked having this opportunity of getting to study opera, and I am sad we are finishing up with it.

The process of writing a opera was hard long and also creative it was more challenging than expected to be but I pulled it off with my group. The favorite part of my group was the amount of fun we had while making the opera. If I were to write another opera I would change the time of the opera to a shorter time because the length is too long for me. The process of writing the opera was was hard long and also creative it was more challenging than expected.

What was the process of writing an opera like? If you are going to write a opera you have to think about what your opera is going to be about, settings, characters, props, costumes, and more. You have to have a script. And you have to have a lot of practice. After I performed my opera I felt good and I had a costume on but my costume was simple. I think about what my character would wear.

The prosses of writing an opera was very fun. You had to think of a bunch of different characters with different personalitys and you had to think of a problem and a solution. The prosses was definitely harder than I thought you had to think about the perspective of the audience and how they were going to see it.

The process of writing the opera was very fun and exiting but a little more challenging than I expected but in a fun way because who wouldn't love a good challenging! Also the most difficult part of writing the opera was trying to think of the perfect lines to go along with the story and also having to write our own songs. But it did get our brains working hard. If I would do an opera again I probably would change the certain timing on a fue things because I think that we took to long on transisions but uther than that I wouldn't change a thing!

The process of writing an opera was a little bit hard we had to write about five songs and we had to make music for all of the songs using instruments. Also, we had to create costumes for the main characters and we had to create props for the setting. My favorite part of our performance was the part where the portal was brought out I think we did a really great job on painting it. If I could change something in our opera it would be that we would have more singing because our opera was really short.

The process of of making a opera was a lot easier then I thought it would be. This is because when the teachers said that the songs whould be short I did not think that thay whould be this short. It took a lot less time then I thought. The most difficult part of making my opera was some of the time being ok with the fact that just because I wrote the oprea dose not mean that I am in charge so I tried to take ideas from my group mates, and doing that made a good difference on Our opera. What was hard about writing a opera was choosing our ones that we sing. If I where going to write a opera agin is our linghth of our opera. I feel it was a good lighth but in some places it got a little confusing for me. If it where a little longer it cold tell the story better. My favorite part of making my opera was practicing the fall off the beam when Avery falls of the beam. It was fun to watch the teachers face when she fell because they thought that she was hurt because she was such a good fake faller. I really enjoyed this opertonity and i am sad that this is my last year at Lee but i really enjoyed this year.
